Dr Kevin Jones is Acting Global CISO at Airbus, leading a global network of; teams, projects and collaborations including; design architecture, research & innovation, state of the art solutions development, and technology scouting for cyber security across; IT, ICS and Product security domains. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and MSc in Distributed Systems Integration from De Montfort University, Leicester where he also obtained his PhD: A Trust Based Approach to Mobile Multi-Agent System Security in 2010.
Kevin’s specialist areas include; Information Security Management & Risk, Security Auditing, Security Architecture, Cloud Security, Threat & Vulnerability Analysis, and Incident Response, he is a recognised expert in industrial security and the protection of critical systems. He is active in the cyber security research community, has published numerous papers and holds a number of patents within the domain. Kevin is well known as an innovator, thought leader, and is responsible for multiple cyber security demonstrator platforms and laboratories. He provides executive level input to the Airbus security office across multiple domains and platforms via; strategic, organisational, and technical programmes within the cyber security function. Kevin works closely with Government agencies on cyber security topics in addition to European programmes and the EU Cyber Security Public Private Partnership. He is industry Chair of the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Industrial Control Systems Community of Interest and member of the associated expert group. Kevin is an elected expert to EPSRC and provides numerous strategic inputs and reviews across government,
industry, and academic initiatives.
He is a frequent public speaker on cyber security, security innovation, and the protection of critical national infrastructure, in addition to an advisor to numerous cyber security research programmes and events. Kevin is an advocate and champion for cyber security in academia, development of cyber skills and for multi-disciplinary research. In addition he is a founding member of CyberWales representing the cyber security ecosystem across Wales and on the International stage.
